As the Jack-of-All-Wicked-Trades for a secretive French military intelligence agency, Lieutenant Kingsley Boissonneault has done it all—spied, lied, and killed under orders. But his latest assignment is quite out of the ordinary. His commanding officer’s nephew has disappeared inside a sex cult, and Kingsley has been tasked with bringing him home to safety.
The cult’s holy book is Story of O, the infamous French novel of extreme sado-masochism. Their château is a looking-glass world where women reign and men are their willing slaves. Or are they willing? It’s Kingsley’s mission to find out.
Once inside the château, however, Kingsley quickly falls under the erotic spell cast by the enigmatic Madame, a woman of wisdom, power, and beauty. She offers Kingsley the one thing he’s always wanted. But the price? Giving up forever the only person he’s ever loved.

At 24 years old, Kingsley Boissonneault is a Lieutenant in a French military agency. Upon being given a new assignment to infiltrate what appears to be a kinky cult, Kingsley sets course to complete his mission. However, he doesn’t expect his personal life to intersect with work, and as a result, he learns more than he could have hoped.
“I can tell from how patiently you wait. Only those who’ve served know how to be humble.”
With Kingsley, there is never a dull moment and though he approaches this assignment with his usual vigor and lustful nature, he learns that his adversary is quite talented in her sadistic practices. While performing the tasks required of him, Kingsley returns to a past where he once surrendered to Søren. Quickly realizing Madame doesn’t have any limits, King plays her game because to play is to win.
“You see, it’s not what I can do to you. It’s what you’ll allow me to do to you. If your willingness to suffer is infinite, then my capacity to hurt you is bottomless.”
As this plot takes the reader down a certain path, it becomes clear that not all is what it seems. Passing each test, Kingsley advances until the final level becomes a truth that he’s always known. Showing his vulnerability, Madame is relentless in her pursuit causing my heart to break for King.
“Not all problems are meant to be solved,” she said. “Some are meant to be endured.”
Madame is an interesting character who might seem like another well-known Original Sinner sadist, but she is quite different in her methods. With her motivations, Madame is a force to be revered and yet feared. While Kingsley is looking for answers, Madame is able to turn his world on its axis.
Throughout, Kingsley has his usual charming, sexy moments but grasping the level of his loneliness during this time underscores his connection to Søren and his need to submit. With his time at The Chateau, Madame proves to be a crucial element in King’s future.
The Chateau is an erotic and thrilling story that offers introspection and shows the depth these characters will take to obtain answers. Plus, getting more of Kingsley is always a good thing, as he never disappoints.
