Liz’s Review~Judging Books~by Shay Savage

“I was going to have to tell everyone about my new boyfriend.”

Judging Books is NA stand-alone romance by one of my favorite authors Shay Savage. Ms. Savage never fails to amaze me with her unique writing style, complex plots, and broken characters. In Judging Books she delivers a beautiful forbidden romance with a clear message about how not to judge a book by its cover and instead use your heart to search a person’s soul.

“Carpe diem.”

Ashlyn is a privileged young woman who is weeks away from graduating with her master’s degree. After her graduation, she will be taking a job at her father’s company where she is being groomed to take over the company. On her way to her final interview, she meets the most unlikely young man. Ethan is a tattooed, pierced, and lives life without any inhibitions. When he meets Ashlyn he is overcome by her beauty and sees something special in her. Although the two are complete opposites, they find a unique and tender connection. As a fast friendship is formed, a physical attraction blooms and the two share a passionate night together. But when the reality of what a relationship with Ethan would mean for Ashlyn, the pressures of social rules and expectations become too much for her to bear. Ashlyn and Ethan might be perfect for one another and yet, it will take courage for both to find the strength to be together.

“You want it slow, sweetheart or do you want it rough?”

Judging Books is a touching romance between two very different individuals. Ethan has learned to overcome his circumstances and thrives by living in the moment. The dynamics between Ethan and Ashlyn are explored thoroughly as we witness the internal struggle Ashlyn is facing. I felt compassion for both of them and yet, there were moments during the read that I wanted to throw my kindle against the wall due to the choices Ashlyn made. The stakes are high for them both to forget about society rules and expectations and instead embrace happiness together. In the end, her transformation is flawless as she finds happiness in Ethan’s arms.

Overall, Judging Books will appeal to readers who enjoy a tender romance of “opposites attract” with passion and smoking hot steam. Shay Savage is a fantastic storyteller and she always delivers!

Liz’s Review~Dirty it Up~by Amelia Bond, Elizabeth Brown, Elizabeth Kelly, Aubrey Bondurant, and Ramona Gray

Dirty it Up is a collection of smoking hot holiday-themed novellas that are sure to get your blood pumping and put you in the holiday mood! Naughty Temptation by Amelia Bond, Indecent Holiday by Elizabeth Brown, Sordid Games by Elizabeth Kelly, Dirty Intentions by Aubrey Bondurant and Filthy Appeal by Ramona Gray offers a variety work with smoking hot heroes and their sassy heroines.

My favorite novella in the collection is Indecent Holiday. Liliana and Rhys were acquaintances in high school and despite an attraction between the two, circumstances beyond their control ripped them apart. Years later, Rhys and Liliana meet again in a cabin for the holidays. Her mom is dating his dad. The reunion between the two is smoking hot as the chemistry they shared still lingers and now has the chance to blossom and a new connection is formed. The two share a passionate holiday together and yet, as the fates may be, they are separated once again. Two years pass and Lily is doing her best to move on but when Rhys appears in her life again this time, he isn’t giving her up without a fight.

Told in dual POV, Indecent Holiday offers a complex plot with a tender second chance romance full of passion and heart. I adored the connection between Rhys and Lily and when their passion ignites it is smoking hot! With Elizabeth Brown’s fluid writing style and broken characters, Indecent Holiday is an absolute must read this holiday season.

Overall, I highly recommend this anthology to anyone looking to add a little holiday flavor to their reading. With such a variety of authors and stories, this holiday treasure is not to be missed!

Liz’s Review~Sick Fux~by Tillie Cole

“Tick tock.”

Sick Fux is a trip down the rabbit hole with dark romance, action, suspense, and complex characters living in a complex world. Warning this book is not for the faint at heart as the circumstances in which these characters live and breathe is violent and grotesque.

“I was ready. Ready to come back for my girl. Ready to lead her down the rabbit hole.”

Ellis Earnshaw and Heathan James met as young children. Happily obsessed with one another, they live isolated in their own little world. They were young children who formed a beautiful friendship. As circumstances changed for Heathen, innocence was lost and the brutal truth of the world in which they live is revealed. Heathen is willing to endure anything in order to keep Ellis safe. But as every moment passes the danger ensues and Ellis also becomes a victim to the horrors of their home. Heathen and Ellis will battle to the death in order to gain revenge on the people that have shattered their souls.

“I thought of the journey ahead. Thought of the blood we would shed, the hearts we would stop and the lives we would steal.”

Told in dual POV, Sick Fux is a shocking read full of unthinkable moments leading up to a blood bath. Heathen and Ellis are both complex and due to the abuse they have endured they both exist in a blended world of reality and their reality together. Heathen exists solely to protect and love Ellis. Ellis is so damaged that Heathen fights every moment to deliver her to a safe place both physically and emotionally. The dynamics between the two are intense and twisted and yet, together they make sense. Although they are ruthless on their quest for revenge, you cannot help but root for them every step of the way. The action is non stop and although the feelings they share are dark and twisted, I found their connection to be full of tenderness and deep love. In addition to the blood, action, and sick circumstances, the passion between Ellis and Heathen is intense and deeply felt as the plot unfolds.

Overall, Sick Fux is an unforgettable read with action and dark romance. I highly recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a ride on the twisted and dark side. Tillie Cole has delivered quite a ride down the rabbit hole. Heathen and Ellis are the type of characters who live on in your mind forever. Tillie Cole is one of my go to authors as her diversity in storytelling never fails to amaze me.

Liz’s Review~A Cowboy for Christmas~by Celia Aaron

“He looked like a cowboy on the cover of a romance novel.”

A Cowboy for Christmas is a delicious Christmas read full of passion and sweet sexy goodness! Molly Gale has returned home to run her dad’s ranch. After his passing, she has abandoned her college education to herd cattle and cowgirl it up. Her neighbor Ingram Brady is not at all happy to have a spunky and spirited young woman living next door. Ingram, a close friend of her father, has nothing but disdain for Molly. But when a snowstorm hits on Christmas Eve, Ingram and Molly are brought together and disdain turns to temptation and passion swiftly ensues. As someone tries to cause mayhem on Molly’s ranch, Ingram stands by her side to save the ranch and claim her as his own.

“We’re forever, Molly. You and me.”

Told in dual POV, A Cowboy for Christmas is a perfect read to get you in the holiday mood. The characters are quite endearing and the connection between the two, albeit fast, is smoking hot! Although I am not a huge cowboy romance fan, I found myself completely enraptured by this ranch romance. The tempo of the read is fast as the plot unfolds at a brisk pace. I found Molly’s spunky personality to be a perfect match for Ingram’s broody alpha male persona.

Ms. Aaron never fails to impress me with her versatile storytelling. This quick Christmas Romance is a perfect way to usher in the holiday season. With passion, romance, and cowboy fun there is simply nothing better!

Liz’s Reivew~The Outliers~by T.M. Frazier

“You have me. Don’t you know by now that I’d do anything for you?”

The Outliers is the second book in The Outskirts Duet. After book one ended with quite a shocking surprise, I was more than excited to jump right in. It is imperative that you read book one before diving into book two!

“You want religion? Then I’ll get on my knees and worship you for the rest of my life.”

Sawyer has finally found a safe place to call home. With new friends and a blossoming relationship with Finn, everything seems to be falling into place. Sawyer is still so naive and yet, she is determined to learn everything there is to know about the world. As the ghosts of her past continue to chase her down, Say discovers pieces of her past that shift her entire world. As passion and intimacy continue to bloom, Finn and Say cannot keep their hands off of each other. Finn is more determined than ever to keep Sawyer safe and hold on to her forever.

“I love you. Fiercely. Possessively. Crazily. Always.”

Told in dual POV, The Outliers offers a sweet and romantic conclusion for Finn and Sawyer. The dynamics between these two remain intense and charged with love and affection, I truly adored the journey they shared together. Certain elements of the plot were quite predictable and over the top and yet, T.M. stayed true to the characters and the relationships in which they shared. The ultimate draw to this read is the unwavering love Finn and Say share. I felt their connection, albeit fast, was sincere and quite beautiful. T.M. has always captivated me with her flawless writing style and flair for damaged characters.

Overall, The Outskirts Duet is a perfect read for someone looking for a tender romance and a story of healing. Ms. Frazier always delivers!

BLOG TOUR~The Outliers~by T.M. Frazier

The Outliers, the stunning conclusion to The Outskirts Duet by T.M. Frazier is available NOW!

The Outliers cover

The Outliers by T.M. Frazier

Release Date: November 9th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sensual. Heartbreaking. Passionate. Overwhelming. Maddening.

That’s the love Finn and I share.

It’s the kind you can never recover from.

The kind you never WANT to recover from.

That’s why we’ll do everything and anything to protect it.

When my past chases me all the way to Outskirts, we have to make a choice.

Let the lies destroy our chance at future together or…bury them deep in the swamp where they belong.

Got a shovel?

My eyes went to her throat. I saw her pulse quicken beneath her smooth skin. She twisted her pouty pink lips. Her hesitation only lasted a second before she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me down closer so that the tips of our noses touched. Her lips feathered against mine. “Fuck me, Finn.”

“Yes,” I growled.

I may have been the one who told her to say those words but hearing them out of her mouth caused the raging inferno of lust within me to explode beyond control. I had a feeling I’d be hearing those words on repeat in my head for the rest of my life.

Fuck me, Finn.

I lifted her up onto the nearest table and pushed her onto her back. I tore her panties off in one tug and while I devoured her with my eyes, I somehow managed to concentrate enough to unbuckle my belt and push my jeans down over my ass, freeing my throbbing cock.

Sawyer moaned when I parted her legs, stepping between them. The sound was pure fucking heaven. Our tongues danced while we drank each other in. I savored the way her body felt against mine. Hard against soft. I dug my fingers into the flesh of her perfectly round ass before moving them to her pussy where I parted her warm wet folds and strummed her swollen clit because Sawyer was my instrument of choice and only I knew how to play her to perfection.

The look on Sawyer’s face when I inserted a finger inside of her was as if I’d just given her a drug. She was high on the pleasure. Her lids were heavy. Her pupils large and dark. I was dead set on making sure I wrung every bit of pleasure from her gorgeous body and I gave her exactly what she’d asked me for.

I didn’t know darkness and evil lurked inside me until I had to murder in order to survive. Forced to become my own worst enemy. With so much blood on my hands, I was surprised I could still see my own skin.
I killed.

I tortured.

I loved…

I played God while I was rotting in Hell. Thriving on control and power was the only way I knew how to live. There were no other options.

If you weren’t my friend, you were my foe.

If you weren’t with me, you were against me.

Traitors, as I called them. There were no imaginary lines. I’d crossed them all. No boundaries. No second chances. No redemption.

Not for me.

For them.

For anyone.

Only for her…

She loved me. Always convinced I was a saint, never believing I was just another sinner.

A fucking monster.

Until it was too late.

Except, I didn’t choose this life.

It. Chose. Me.

I’m going to tell you a story.
It’s dark.
It’s brutal.
It’s fucking real.
In order to understand my present, who I am, and what I’ve
You need to understand my past.
Evil doesn’t always hide in the shadows, in the darkness.
Most of the time, it’s out in the open, in plain fucking sight. Possessing the
man you’d least expect. You see, I never imagined another life until I made one
for myself. By that time, I was too far-gone, engulfed in nothing but pitch
black darkness. Exactly the way it was meant to be.
No one could touch me.
No one fucked with me.
I. Was. Invincible.
Nothing more…
Nothing less.
When I dreamed of true love—of soul mates, my other half, of
her—the cruelty of my life would snap me back into my reality, making it just
that, a dream. One that could easily turn into a nightmare.
My worst fucking nightmare.
Every memory, the good, the bad, the in between. All the I
love yous, every last I fucking hate you, her heart and soul that I’d broken,
shattered and destroyed along the years belonged to me.
Her pleasure.
Her pain.
It was all a part of me, carved so fucking deep into my skin
where she would forever be engraved. My story is going to make you fucking hate
me as much as she does, but I want you to.
I’m not looking for redemption.
I’m not looking for your forgiveness.
I don’t deserve yours like I don’t deserve hers.
I’m far from the hero in this story.
I’m closer to the villain.
You will think of me as the villain.
Except, I’m far worse.
I’m the fucking monster.
And, I’m perfectly alright with that.
