CC’s Review: The Anti-Hero by Sara Cate

Adam Goode lived in the looming shadow of his preacher father and sought a life following his footsteps. After a random encounter with a pink-haired tattooed Sage Astor, Adam’s view of good and bad begins to shift in a way that cannot be easily reversed.

“She’s not like the women I date: quiet, compliant, shoving their feelings down to avoid confrontation.”

Narrated in dual POV, Adam and Sage are opposites in many ways, but as they unite with a common goal, more is revealed. With some hot scenes, Adam’s true desires come to the surface and Sage isn’t afraid to pursue what she feels. What didn’t completely work for me was Adam, as his transformation felt quick and a bit too much. That said, I liked overall how Adam and Sage defined their relationship and path. I look forward to reading Home Wrecker, the next book in the Goode Brothers series.

The Anti-Hero is about acceptance and finding one’s own path. This book would appeal to those seeking a steamy fake romance.
